In an awkward endorsement, The New York Times praised Philly rapper Amanda Blank for her "highly unprintable claims about her sexual prowess." Well hey, it's still press. This Spank Rock collaborator may be better known for her dirty mouth than her musical ability, but productions from XXXChange, Diplo, Switch, and Eli Escobar on her debut album I Love You (which dropped August 4th), along with guest appearances by the Cool Kids' Chuck Inglish, Santigold, and Lykke Li. Either way, taking her influences from 90’s R&B, 80’s dance, indie, new wave, and brit pop makes for a fun party album that will be kept on repeat.
Right now, Amanda’s opening up a bunch of dates with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and if Karen O approves it, you know it’s good. Download “Make It Take It” from Spinner.com or “Might Like You Better" at RCRD LBL.
