I love the word "free"

Good news: this year's installment of the Virgin Mobile Festival is completely free - and the lineup kicks ass!

Blink-182, Weezer, and Franz Ferdinand are scheduled to headline the event, which has been nicknamed the "Virgin FreeFest." The show will go down August 30 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, just outside the Baltimore and Washington, DC, areas. Rounding out the lineup is Girl Talk, Jet, Public Enemy, Mates of State, the Bravery, the Hold Steady, the National, St. Vincent, Wale, Danny Howells, Holy Fuck, Lee Burridge, and Pete Tong.

Tickets for the 35,000-capacity venue will be available beginning this Saturday, June 27, at 10 A.M. via Ticketmaster.com.

And if a free pass wasn't enough, promoters are also treating do-gooders to special reserved seating. That's right: anyone who completes at least 13 hours of community service at designated homeless youth shelters across the country can kick it VIP-style at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

If I left anything out just visit virginmobilefestival.com for more information.

Free festival, great bands, and a good cause? I wish I could go!
